Jamba Juice opens near Kentucky campus
January is cold, but for some it may not be too cold for a smoothie.
“Not from Jamba Juice,” said Samantha McKeough, a mechanical engineering freshman. Jamba Juice, a smoothie shop, opened at 7 a.m. Monday in Center Court on South Upper Street, joining more than 700 other locations across the country. Jamba Juice offers 34 types of smoothies in three different sizes, breakfast wraps, oatmeal, bagels and pretzels. It will soon offer California flatbreads and more.

Juice-bar concepts look to capitalize on growing health-minded audience

When Starbucks looked for a way to grab a piece of the $50 billion health-and-wellness category, the coffeehouse giant saw an open door through the niche of fresh juice.
With the 2011 purchase of premium-juice company Evolution Fresh, Starbucks plans to add bottled juices to its line of packaged products. And later this year, the Seattle-based company will debut a new juice-bar concept with the goal of reinventing the juice category in much the same way it elevated that of coffee.

Kreation Kafe Opens Drinks-Only Kreaton Juicery in Beverly Hills

But now they have stepped up their fresh produce game and opened a second, drinks-only, location in Beverly Hills. Called Kreation Juicery, the new space is located in the former Blanc Haute Yogurt spot and serves drinks only.

Barakat commissions new plant in Dubai
Leading fresh fruit and vegetable products firm Barakat Quality Plus has commissioned its newest plant in the ‘Food & Beverage Zone’ at Dubai Industrial City (DI). The 200,000 sq ft facility constitutes the second phase of expansion for the company. The unit has a daily processing capacity of 200 tonnes of fresh sanitised vegetable produce, including peeled fresh potato, onion, carrot in bulk and vegetable crudités, as well as leafy greens and mixed salads.
